Published in the South Bourke and Mornington Journal on 23rd of October 1913.

A motor party had a somewhat exciting experience on the bridge near Bourke’s Hotel (on the corner of Toomuc Valley Road), the motor running over a tiger snake some 6 feet long, and in the revolution of the wheel the snake was cast on to the motor board but quickly removed by the chauffeur, much to the relief of the ladies in the car, who suffered a big shock.
