A Lucky Dog

Written by Annie O'Riley (www.oddhistory.com.au) on May 6, 2012

“PAKENHAM, Friday.- A peculiar accident happened yesterday to a pointer owned by Constable Keogh. Constable Keough went out driving, and the dog followed him.  Just after crossing the railway line, he missed the dog, but when he had proceeded some distance the animal ran up to him. Constable Keough then noticed that the dog had lost half of one ear. The missing piece was found adhering to one of the rails on the line, a passing train having apparently cut the piece off without injuring the dog’s head.”
